The Winter Emergency Shelter and the Cold Weather Warming Center have been developed to provide relief to the men, women, and children who are unhoused in Kosciusko County when inclement weather occurs. It is to be implemented when weather conditions are triggered as outlined below.

Beginning November 1, 2025, and continuing through March 31, 2026, these services will be available at Fellowship Missions in Warsaw.

This plan is intended to serve as a guide to prevent homeless individuals from serious harm or death during the winter season each year.

The Winter Emergency Shelter and Warming Center are open based on weather conditions, so please call us at 574-268-9555 for up-to-date information.

The Warming Center

If the temp is 32° F or below, or there is hazardous weather during the daytime hours, Fellowship Missions will be opened during the day as a safe warming shelter.

To check to see if the warming center is available for the day, please call our front desk (574)268-9555.

Check-in is from 9am – 3pm Monday – Saturday and from 1pm – 3pm on Sunday.

Winter Emergency Overnight Shelter

In addition to the daytime Warming Center, this winter season (November – March), we will take in as many people as we can safely fit in our Winter Emergency Shelter every night when the weather is 32 degrees or below or has hazard-like winter conditions at night.

If the shelter beds are full, Fellowship Missions will start placing individuals on mats for their overnight stay.

Check-in for those needing a warm place to sleep is daily from 3pm –7pm.
